What are the reasons for slow curing of sealants?

What are the reasons for slow curing of sealants?

(1) Low temperature. The construction temperature of sealants should be kept at 10~40℃. If the temperature is too low, it is necessary to extend the curing time or take heating measures;

(2) Low humidity (single-component products). The construction humidity of sealants should be kept at 50~80%. If the humidity is too high, it is not easy to detackify;

(3) The glue joint is too narrow or too deep (single-component products). Because single-component sealants react with moisture in the air and gradually cure from the surface to the inside. Therefore, the design size of the glue joint should be reasonable;

(4) The B component is too small (two-component products). Increase the proportion of component B;

(5) The sealant has expired or has quality problems. Check the production batch number of the glue to confirm whether the glue is within the shelf life. If the glue quality is problematic, replace the sealant;

(6) Different types of glue have different curing speeds. It is necessary to understand the difference in glue curing speeds. Two-component > single-component acid glue > single-component ketoxime type > single-component alcohol type glue. Select according to needs. During use, there are some differences in the curing speed of glues from different brands.
