How to use sealant in summer?
Storage
1. In summer, the temperature is high. Please keep the indoor temperature of the warehouse below 35℃ and avoid direct sunlight;
2. In the rainy season, pay attention to moisture prevention and keep the warehouse well ventilated. Lay moisture-proof boards on the ground or use other auxiliary tools to suspend the glue pile to keep the air at the bottom of the glue pile flowing smoothly to prevent the moisture on the ground from affecting the quality of the glue;
3. Store in a dry and vacuum sealed state to isolate air and water. If half of the tube is not used up, just leave it as it is. The nozzle will harden and seal by itself. When you use it next time, just remove or squeeze out the hardened small point of the nozzle and you can continue to use it.
Gluing
1. Silicone sealant is generally applied within the range of 4 to 40℃. It cannot be applied when the surface temperature of the substrate is too high (above 50℃). Excessive temperature difference will cause blistering of the glue joint. In summer, the temperature is very high and the humidity is very high during the day. If it is applied in the morning or afternoon, it is particularly easy to blister, because silicone weather-resistant glue is cured by absorbing moisture in the air under certain temperature conditions. When the glue is applied in the morning or afternoon, the curing speed of the silicone is very fast. During the curing process of silicone glue, chemical substances will be released to form gas, which will gather together and cannot escape the colloid immediately. This will cause bubbling. Generally, this situation occurs in the glue joints on the sunny side of the curtain wall and the long side of the curtain wall components. Applying glue in the evening when the sun sets can alleviate this phenomenon. If the construction period is tight, you can inject glue on the west or north side of the building in the morning and on the east or south side of the building in the afternoon, avoiding strong light and large temperature difference. After the glue is injected, after a period of curing, the surface crust will form and have a certain resistance. When the sun is shining, some bubbling can be overcome.
2. The rainy season lasts for a long time and there is a lot of rain. The rain causes the surface of the substrate to be wet, which will affect the consistency and good adhesion. The silicone glue cannot perform at its best or lead to potential bonding failure. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid construction on rainy days and pay attention to the weather conditions during the period of glue application. It is best not to have rainy days. When applying glue, the glue joints and the substrates that the glue contacts must be dry.
