How to correctly select and apply sealant?

Selecting the right sealant and applying it correctly is the key to ensure the sealing effect. Wrong material selection or operation may lead to cracking, degumming and even safety hazards.

Material selection points
Matching substrate: Silicone glue is suitable for glass and metal, and polyurethane glue is more suitable for concrete.

Environmental requirements: UV resistance is required outdoors, and mildew resistance is required in humid environments.

Curing method: One-component glue is easy to apply, and two-component glue cures faster and has higher strength.

Construction steps
Surface treatment: Remove oil and dust, and use primer to enhance adhesion when necessary.

Glue injection skills: Cut the glue nozzle at a 45° angle and squeeze the glue gun at a uniform speed to ensure full filling.

Trimming and curing: Use a scraper to smooth the surface, and avoid moving or getting wet during curing.

Common problem solving
Bubble problem: It may be that the injection speed is too fast, and it needs to be operated slowly.

Bonding failure: Check whether the substrate is clean, or replace it with a higher performance sealant.

Through scientific material selection and standardized construction, the service life of sealant can be extended to more than 10 years.
