Sealant Usage Guide

Sealant is a commonly used bonding and sealing material, suitable for filling gaps, waterproofing, dustproofing and fixing parts. Correct use of sealant can ensure its maximum performance. The following are detailed usage steps and precautions.

1. Surface preparation
Clean the surface: Use alcohol or special cleaner to remove oil, dust and moisture, and ensure that the bonding surface is dry and clean.

Polish the rough surface: If the surface is too smooth (such as glass, metal), it can be lightly polished to enhance adhesion.

2. Choose sealant
Choose the appropriate sealant type according to your needs:

Silicone sealant: High temperature resistant and waterproof, suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, doors and windows.

Polyurethane sealant: Good elasticity, suitable for building joints.

Acrylic sealant: Environmentally friendly and odorless, suitable for indoor caulking.

3. Construction steps
Cut the glue nozzle: Bevel the glue tube nozzle according to the size of the gap, and the opening diameter is slightly smaller than the gap width.

Load the glue into the gun: Load the glue hose into the glue gun, and squeeze the glue gun to discharge the unmixed colloid at the front end.

Uniform glue application: squeeze the glue gun at a 45° angle and apply glue continuously along the gap at one time to avoid interruption.

Finish the glue surface: smooth the surface with a scraper or wet fingers immediately after applying glue to remove excess glue.

4. Curing and maintenance
Curing time: It usually takes 30 minutes to 2 hours for surface drying, and 24 to 72 hours for complete curing (depending on temperature and humidity).

Avoid disturbance: Do not squeeze or move the bonding part during curing.

5. Precautions
Ventilation environment: Keep ventilation during construction to avoid inhalation of volatile gases.

Protective measures: Wear gloves to avoid skin contact with uncured glue.

Storage conditions: Unused sealant should be sealed and stored in a cool and dry place.

Correct use of sealant can effectively extend its life and improve the sealing effect. Clean up tools in time after construction to ensure a clean environment.
